Sewing
Clothing
Sewing your own clothing is like creating wearable art. Also, my sleeves actually get to be long enough!
Sam from Trick 'r Treat
A costume.
For Halloween, 2017.
It was the first thing I sewed. And I only did it because no one made orange fleece onesies. At least, not ones that didn't look like a prison uniform. I keep not fixing the head, then telling myself I'll do it next year.
If you've not seen the film, you should.
Here's the Trick-R-Treat IMDB Page for more about the movie.
Dinosaur Dress
I saw this fabric, and immediately knew it needed to be something. So now I have a dress covered in dinosaurs. And they're in space! Made in 2021, this is where sewing and I really kicked off together.

Overalls!
Obviously, since I had sewn a dress, I could now make some overalls. This was naive thinking. Denim is hard to sew. I fought with my machine a lot. They're made out of a dark blue stretch denim, with some little pink threads woven in here and there for some pop of color.

Canvas Jacket
Fighting with canvas is a logical next step after a fight with denim. This was much easier to sew than the overalls. It's also the first jacket I've owned whose sleeves are long enough!
And then I waxed it. And that took forever. And was frustrating.
But I love it. Even if it's length makes it hard to bike in.

Cycling Caps!
I've sewed up about 20 or so of these using several variations of a self drafted pattern.
Bags
They're not magical bags of holding. But they're still useful! Most of them are easy day projects too.
Bouldering Chalk Bucket
I made my brother a waxed canvas chalk bucket for Christmas in 2021. He's still using it, as pictured here, in the fall of 2023. The inside is lined with shark print fleece, and I embroidered a label with the chemistry formula for chalk.
Tool Storage
Store important things! The one pictured is great for drawing and painting on the go. I love the little eraser/sharpener pocket too. I've also done others for wrenches, and a few other art supply rolls.
Miscellanea
Here lies the fun stuff!
Pocket Dinosaurs!
Pocket sized stuffed dinosaurs! They're all made out of green canvas and self drafted. The apatosaurus goes with me nearly everywhere.
Christmas Ornaments
Candy canes and Christmas trees, sewn up from scrap fabric, and intended to be given as gifts.
Bootleg Blåhaj
Leftover fleece, with sharks printed on it, makes it really easy to sew up a plushie shark. It's the perfect size for surprise booping people.
